Shopify FTP & SFTP Import and Export

Shopify has no built-in FTP access. DataEase adds Shopify FTP and SFTP support, so you can automate the exchange of data between your store and external systems — for example, send a product or inventory feed to a supplier every night, or import price and stock files that your ERP drops on an SFTP server. Combine it with scheduling to run these transfers without manual work.

🔄 What Can You Do with FTP/SFTP in DataEase?

You can:

Export data from your Shopify store to an FTP/SFTP server
Import data from an FTP/SFTP server into your store

This helps automate repetitive tasks and keeps your store synced with other platforms like ERPs, warehouses, or marketing tools.

⚙️ Manage Servers in the App

Go to the Servers page in the app to add and manage your FTP or SFTP servers.

You can add as many servers as you need.

When adding a server, you’ll need:

Server Name
Type: FTP or SFTP
Host Address and Port Number
Authentication Method:
- Username + Password
- Username + Private Key (for SFTP)

Once saved, the server can be used in import and export configurations.

📤 Exporting Data to FTP/SFTP

When setting up an export task, you can choose to send the exported file directly to one of your servers.

Just select the server from the list.
You can also specify a filename template, so each export uses a consistent naming format.

This is useful for scheduled exports where another system regularly picks up the file.

📥 Importing Data from FTP/SFTP

You can start an import by using a direct FTP/SFTP link. The link format looks like this: ftp://username:password@host/path/to/yourfile.xlsx

DataEase will automatically:

Access the file
Process the data
Create an import task

Use descriptive filenames or folder structures to organize multiple exports/imports.
Schedule import/export tasks to run automatically.
Make sure the file format is supported: .csv, .tsv, or .xlsx.
