Events

Shopify Events keep the activity log for your store-who changed a product, which app ran a task, or when an order was edited.
With DataEase you can export these logs to Excel or CSV for:

  • Security reviews and audits
  • App-usage reports
  • Long-term backup of store history

2. Export

Section titled “2. Export”
  1. Choose CSV or Excel.
  2. Pick Events as the entity.
  3. Select the fields you need (for example action, createdAt, subjectType).
  4. Run the task and download the file.

12-month retention. Shopify returns only events from the last 12 months, so older events can’t be exported. The export form shows this notice. The event count is capped at 10,000 and then shown as 10,000+.

3. Import (Not supported)

Events are read-only. DataEase lets you export them, but you can’t import or change them.

4. Field reference

Section titled “4. Field reference”

  • id — Unique ID of the event. Export only.

  • action — What action happened-for example create, update, or delete. Export only.

  • appTitle — Name of the app that caused the event (if any). Export only.

  • attributeToApp — true if an app created the event. Export only.

  • attributeToUser — true if a staff user caused the event. Export only.

  • createdAt — Date and time when the event happened. Export only.

  • criticalAlert — true if the event is marked critical. Export only.

  • message — Short human-readable text that explains the event. Export only.

  • arguments — Extra data that links the event to its resources. Export only.

  • subjectId — ID of the resource that triggered the event. Export only.

  • subjectType — Type of resource that triggered the event. Values include: ARTICLE, BLOG, COLLECTION, COMMENT, COMPANY, COMPANY_LOCATION, CUSTOMER, DISCOUNT_AUTOMATIC_BXGY, DISCOUNT_AUTOMATIC_NODE, DISCOUNT_CODE_NODE, DISCOUNT_NODE, DRAFT_ORDER, ORDER, PAGE, PRICE_RULE, PRODUCT, PRODUCT_VARIANT, UNKNOWN. Export only.

5. Filters

Section titled “5. Filters”

  • Id — Export a single event by its id.

  • Action — Export events where action equals the text you enter.

  • SubjectType — Export only events from one subjectType, e.g. PRODUCT.

  • CreatedAt — Choose a date or date range for createdAt.

  • Comments — Filter events that include or exclude comments in the message.
