Changelog

New Columns: Order Cart Token, Customer Tax ID, Discount Tags and More

This update adds new columns to several entities and brings back metafield translations.

Orders

  • New export columns (not selected by default): cartToken, line item weight (lineItemWeight, lineItemWeightUnit) and line item price after all discounts, before taxes (lineItemPriceAfterAllDiscountsBeforeTaxes in shop currency, lineItemPresentmentPriceAfterAllDiscountsBeforeTaxes in customer currency).
  • refundCreatedAt now works on import: a refund row with a date creates the refund with that date. An empty cell uses the current time.
  • phone is now applied when you update existing orders. An empty cell keeps the current phone.

Details: Orders.

Customers

  • New export column taxId: the customer’s tax ID (VAT number) from Shopify tax settings. Shopify doesn’t allow setting it through the API, so it’s export only.
  • MultipassIdentifier can now be imported on create and update. An empty cell leaves it unchanged.

Details: Customers.

Discounts

New tags column for all discount types, code and automatic. Tags are comma-separated; write a comma inside a tag as \,. An empty cell keeps the existing tags. Store transfers copy discount tags too.

Details: Discounts.

Metafield definitions

Two new capabilities: analytics queryable (the metafield can be used in ShopifyQL analytics) and cart to order copyable (the value is copied from the cart line to the order line). The …Enabled columns can be imported (true / false), the …Eligible columns are export only. Store transfers carry these capabilities when they are enabled on the source store.

Translations

The Metafield resource type is available again in translation exports. It isn’t selected by default, because it scans the metafields of all products, collections, pages, articles, blogs and the shop. Only translatable metafields are exported; product variant metafields are not included. Rows keep the resource METAFIELD and import back as before. Image alt text is exported with the Media image (MEDIA_IMAGE) resource type.
