Import Data
With DataEase, importing data into your Shopify store is simple and powerful. Whether you’re updating product prices, uploading orders, or creating new collections, this guide will walk you through each step.
1. Prepare Your Import File
You can import data using .xlsx
, .csv
, or .tsv
files.
✅ Recommended ways to prepare your file:
- Export existing data from your store with DataEase — then modify and re-upload it.
- Use one of our import templates to quickly start importing specific data types:

⚠️ Make sure your file includes commands like
create
,update
, ordelete
for each row.
2. Upload Your File
You can upload your file in several ways:
- From your computer (limit: 100MB)
- From Google Drive, Dropbox, or Google Sheets
- From an FTP/SFTP server
To import a large file (multiple GB), use a cloud link (shared with access) and paste the link into DataEase.
3. Review Detected Entities and Fields
After uploading, the import task will appear.
- Check that entities were detected correctly.
- Open the Instances tab to review each entity.
- If a field is highlighted in red, it means the app couldn’t match it. You can manually assign columns.
- Uncheck any fields you don’t want to import.
4. Validate the Data
Click Validate Data to check your file.
This step will:
- Go through every row
- Check for missing values, formatting issues, or unsupported data
- Show a validation status — either Success, Partial Errors, or Failed
💡 Always review the validation result before running the import to avoid incorrect uploads.
5. Run the Import
When validation is complete and successful, click Run Import.
You’ll be taken to the import progress screen, where:
- Progress is shown live
- You’ll see how many records were processed
6. Check Results
Once the import is finished:
- A summary shows how many rows succeeded and how many failed
- Click Download Import Results to view a detailed file with errors and statuses
🔁 You can always repeat the import if needed by adjusting the original file and re-uploading.
Importing with DataEase saves time, helps you avoid mistakes, and makes it easy to keep your Shopify store updated with accurate data.
