Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 23, 2025
DataEase is a Shopify app built to run on the Shopify platform. This app is provided by GO CLIENTS TECH (“we” or “us”). We value your privacy and want you to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect through the DataEase app, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. By using DataEase, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
What Information We Collect
We collect certain information from you and your Shopify store to provide and improve the DataEase app’s services. This includes:
• Email Address: We collect your email address (for example, the email associated with your Shopify account or any email you provide to us). This helps us contact you with important information or support. • Shopify Store Data: We have access to data from your Shopify store through Shopify’s platform. This may include your store name, store URL, and other store information needed to operate our app. For example, the app might access details about your store’s products, orders, or customers in order to perform exports or other features. We only access the data that is necessary for the app to function.
We do not collect any sensitive personal information that is not needed for the app’s functionality. We limit our data collection to only what is required to run DataEase effectively on your store.
How We Use Information
We use the collected information to operate and improve the DataEase app. Specifically: • Providing the Service: We use your Shopify store data to perform the core functions of the app (such as exporting or importing store data). Without this information, the app cannot work as intended. • Communication: We use your email address to send you updates, respond to support requests, and provide information about the app. We will only email you for things like important updates or to help you if you contact us. • Improvement: We analyze how the app is used (for example, through analytics tools) to help us make DataEase better. This might include looking at which features are most popular or fixing technical issues. When we analyze usage data, we typically use combined or anonymous information (nothing that identifies you personally). • Legal Obligations: If necessary, we may use your information to comply with the law or with Shopify’s requirements. For example, we might need to respond to a valid legal request or follow Shopify’s data deletion rules as described below.
We will not use your personal information for purposes other than those listed above without asking for your permission first.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information to any third parties. We also do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes. The data collected by DataEase is used only for running and improving the app, as described in this policy.
The only times we might share your information are: • Service Providers: We may use trusted third-party companies to help us operate the app (for example, cloud storage or analytics services). If these services need access to data, they will only use your data to perform tasks for us (to support our app). They are not allowed to use your data for anything else, and they must keep it confidential. • Legal Requirements: If we are required by law (for example, by a court order or government request) to disclose certain data, we may share information as needed to comply. In such a case, we would only share the information that we are legally required to share.
Apart from the situations above, we do not share your data with anyone else. Your store’s data and your email stay private to you and our app’s operations.
Cookies and Analytics
DataEase uses Google Analytics (a web analytics service provided by Google) to help us understand how users interact with our app. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar tracking technologies to collect information about how the app is used. This can include data like how often you use the app, which features you click on, and technical details about your device or browser. This analytics data is generally anonymous and is not linked to your name or email address.
We use the information from Google Analytics to improve the app’s performance and user experience. For example, knowing which features are most used can help us decide what to improve. The data collected through Google Analytics does not include anything that directly identifies you.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, the app will still work, but some analytics features might not work as intended. (Google’s use of data collected by Google Analytics is governed by the Google Analytics privacy policy.) We do not send any of your personal details to Google Analytics – we only use it to collect general usage statistics.
Data Retention
We keep your data only for as long as necessary to provide our services, and as allowed by Shopify’s rules or by law. Here is how we handle data retention: • Active Use: While you are actively using the DataEase app, we keep the information we need (such as your store data and the tasks you run) to provide the service to you. • When You Stop Using the App: If you uninstall DataEase from your Shopify store or stop using it, we will remove or delete the personal data we have from your store. Shopify will also notify us to delete your store’s data from our records as part of their privacy process. We follow these requirements. After you uninstall the app, we will not keep your store’s identifiable information, except if needed for legal reasons or basic internal record-keeping. • Analytics Data: Any analytics data (as described above) may be kept for a while so we can review and improve our service. This data is usually combined and not linked to any specific person. We make sure not to keep analytics data longer than necessary.
When we no longer need your information, we will securely delete it or make it anonymous so it can no longer be linked back to you.
Your Rights
We respect your rights over your personal data. How you can exercise your rights depends on whether you are a merchant using DataEase or a customer of a store that uses DataEase. Here is what you need to know in each case: • For Shopify Merchants (DataEase App Users): You have the right to access, update, or request deletion of the personal information we have about you. For example, you can ask to see what data we have collected about you. You can also request that we delete all your store data from our systems (for instance, if you stop using the app). You can make these requests directly through the DataEase app or by contacting us (see Contact Us below). We will respond and help you with your request. We will delete your information as required by law. We handle these requests as quickly as possible. • For Customers of Shopify Stores: If you are a customer of a Shopify store that uses the DataEase app, you should contact the store owner to make any privacy requests (such as accessing or deleting your data). The store owner is responsible for handling your request. They may forward your request to us, or Shopify might automatically send us a notice. We will then delete (or provide) any of your information in our system as needed. We do this in line with Shopify’s privacy rules. We also want you to know that we do not use store customers’ data for any purpose other than running our app for the store. We will delete a store customer’s data from our system as soon as we receive a valid deletion request through the store.
We will not treat you differently or unfairly for exercising your privacy rights. We aim to respond to all data access or deletion requests as quickly as possible, and always within any timeframe required by law.
