Export Images from Shopify
Exporting product images manually for audits, migrations, or bulk reviews can be time-consuming. DataEase makes it easy: create an export, apply filters, select Media fields, and download your product images with URLs and metadata as CSV/Excel—all in just a few steps.
🎯 Goal
Export product images (CDN URLs, ALT text, positions) to CSV/Excel for audits, migrations, or bulk reviews using DataEase.
📋 Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Create an Export
In DataEase, go to New Export → Products.
2. Apply Filters (Optional)
Narrow scope by:
- Collection ID (you can copy it from a Collections export or the Shopify Admin URL)
- Tag
- Vendor
- Status
3. Choose Fields
Select at minimum:
Required:
idhandletitle- Media (images and metadata)
Optional:
- Images count (to quickly find items with many/few images)
- Variant context such as
variantId,variantSKUif you’ll cross-check images against variants
4. Group Media (Recommended)
Enable “Group product media into single rows” to get one row per product with all media combined.
Note: Disable this if you prefer one row per image.
5. Run the Export and Download
Click Run Export to start the export task.
After the task completes, click Download Result File to get your exported data as CSV/Excel. Use spreadsheet filters to find missing ALT text, oversized catalogs, or products without images.
📝 Important Notes
- The Media field contains image URLs and metadata ready for downstream tools; you can use the URLs to download files if needed
- To isolate products without images, export with Media + “Group product media into single rows,” then filter the Media column for blanks
- Schedule recurring image audits via Schedule and repeat (set a fixed filename and enable a shareable link in app settings)
🎉 That’s it!
Your product images are now exported and ready for analysis.
