Export Data

Exporting data from your Shopify store with DataEase is easy and flexible. You can choose what data to export, in what format, and even automate the process.

Follow this step-by-step guide to get started.

1. Choose Export Format

DataEase supports two file formats:

  • Excel (.xlsx) — great for working with multiple entities. Each entity will go on its own worksheet.
  • CSV (.csv) — best for working with large datasets and system integrations.

Tip: Excel files have limits — 1,048,576 rows, 16,384 columns, and 32,767 characters per cell. If you’re exporting long descriptions (like HTML), some content may get cut off. For large exports, use CSV instead.

2. Select Entities and Fields

Next, choose the entities you want to export, like Products, Customers, or Orders.

  • Each entity becomes a separate sheet in Excel.
  • Each field becomes a column.

You can also:

  • Customize field names in the export by clicking the ✏️ icon.
  • Create presets to save frequently used export setups.
  • Use filters to limit the data. For example, filter by id, title, or handle to export only what you need.

Example: You want to export only products tagged “summer”. Use the Tag filter to include only those.

3. Configure Export Options

In the Export Options section, you can:

  • Schedule your export for later
  • Choose where to save the file (FTP, server, or local)
  • Set a file name template
  • For Products: enable media grouping to place all image URLs in one column, separated by a semicolon.

4. Run the Export

Click Run Export to start the task.

You’ll be taken to the export progress screen, where you can:

  • See a progress bar
  • Watch the log for task updates

Once the export finishes, the status will show Completed.

5. Download the Export File

Click Download Result File to get your export. If you enabled link access, you can also copy the download link using the 📋 button next to it.

6. Re-run the Export

Need to run the export again with the same settings?
Use the Re-run button on the task page to repeat it without setting everything up again.

By following these steps, you can easily export exactly the data you need from Shopify using DataEase—on your schedule, in your format.
